£150,000 obtained for horse-related injury
Tim Gleave has obtained a £150,000 settlement for a young lady who was injured by a horse.
Miss C was leading a horse to a paddock when the horse reared without warning, knocking her to the ground with the horse’s hoof landing on her right leg.
Miss C suffered a closed fracture to her right leg and required two corrective surgeries leaving her with permanent scarring. Miss C will also need further surgery in the future as she has been left with rotational malunion of her right femur.
As a result of the incident, Miss C was unable to work in any capacity for three months and was then on light duties, leading to a loss of earnings.
Tim comments: “Working with animals is unpredictable and there is always a chance of injury. In this case, we were pleased to achieve a settlement of £150,000 which Miss C was overjoyed to receive.”
