Ashtons advise on acquisition of Attwoods Manor Nursing Home
Ashtons Legal has advised Stow Healthcare Group in its acquisition of the business and assets of Attwoods Manor Nursing Home in Halstead from Attwoods Residential Homes.
Attwoods Manor, which will be renamed Halstead Hall, is a 19th century country manor house and is registered for 65 residents. It sees Stow Healthcare take its overall bed capacity to 250 across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex and takes the number of homes in their portfolio to five.
Geoff Hazlewood, a partner and head of the Corporate and Commercial Team led the transaction, assisted by Ron Clare in the Commercial Property Team and Colin Makin assisted on employment matters. NatWest assisted with the funding of the acquisition.
Geoff Hazlewood commented: “Congratulations to Ruth and Roger on this, their fifth acquisition since they started the business and their second acquisition within the last year following the purchase of Melford Court. Their track record in turning these homes around is truly impressive and I am sure they will make Halstead Hall a success.”
