Ashtons’ Solicitor Appointed President of Jurismus

Sophie Hearle, Solicitor at Ashtons Legal has recently been appointed President of Jurismus, the international association of young lawyers from across 650 Eurojuris law firms.

Sophie qualified as a Solicitor in 2016 having completed her training contract with Ashtons. She works in the firm’s niche French Legal Services team and is located in the firm’s Bury St Edmunds office at Fornham Business Court.

Jurismus is an international association of active young lawyers, all of whom are employed in one of the 650 Eurojuris law firms. Sophie supersedes Sven Farbrot from law firm Advokatfirma Tofte DA in Norway.

As part of her role as President, Sophie will host the annual congress in Rotterdam in June 2022. In the meantime she will work alongside other committee members to continue the established social and professional network for all Jurismus members, promoting and facilitating B2B between young lawyers.

Jurismus young lawyers also have access to personal, professional and intercultural qualifications obtained through debate forums, training and academic programmes. Membership naturally leads to openings for young lawyers to Eurojuris International and its specialist groups.

Sophie has been a board member for Jurismus for four years and upon gladly accepting the role of President said: “I am honoured to have been asked to take on the role of President of Jurismus. Although previously blighted by Covid restrictions, I am looking forward to planning the next annual in-person congress. However, before that I am excited at the prospect of meeting new members virtually at our networking events, and working with fellow young lawyers on cross-border matters and projects”.
