Walking, swimming and jumping …. all in the name of charity
Posted 05/11/2015
The Court of Protection team at Ashtons Legal have been walking, swimming and jumping (or perhaps more accurately falling) to raise money for various charities this year.
Earlier in the year, Relationship Manager Laura Bonnington swam 44 miles (the equivalent of Dover to Calais and back again) to raise money for Diabetes UK. Getting up at 6am to swim before work, her dedication and commitment raised over £250!
Anna Foster (Associate/Senior Relationship Manager) along with 11 members of the Ashtons Legal team donned pyjamas and pink fluffy, flashing bunny ears to join 1800 others completing the annual 11.2 mile Girl’s Night Out walk in Bury St Edmunds. Raising over £1600 for St Nicholas Hospice so far! This is a major annual event for the ladies of Ashtons Legal with Anna Foster and Sharon Allison racking up five years worth of bunny ears with no signs of stopping!
Swapping the pink for parachutes the daring deeds of Senior Relationship Manager, Paul Humphries, and injury business manager, Julian Baume, who after being foiled on multiple occasions by the Great British weather, were finally able to take to the skies only to jump out of them! This amazing experience was to raise money for the Silverlining Charity which works with and supports disabled children and young people to achieve their dreams. Paul himself admits that it was equally terrifying and breath-taking experience and now that he is back on terra firma he would definitely do it again!
Together Paul and Julian have raised over £1300 confirming that every cloud does indeed have a silver lining!
Well done to all involved and we look forward to more of the same next year!
