Springwood’s Mock Trial Team Excel in New York

A team from Springwood High School in King’s Lynn excelled recently at the world championships of the Barrister Mock Trials competition held in New York.

The team of pupils who are aged between 16 and 18 won the Regional Heat of the Barrister mock trials competition held at Norwich Crown Court in November 2015. They then went on to win a place at the national competition at The Old Bailey and from there were offered a place at the World Championships of the Mock Trials Competition in New York.

In order to attend, the group were vigorously fundraising and raised enough money through sponsorship from firms such as Ashtons Legal, to fund their trip.

Following a number of very difficult rounds, the team finished 4th out of 44 teams – and all of this has been achieved by the only students in the competition not to be studying Law!
