Settlement of over £2 million obtained for Norfolk amputee
Ashtons solicitors specialising in catastrophic injury claims at Ashtons Legal, have obtained a settlement in excess of £2 million for a young man from Norfolk following a serious motorcycle collision.
Mr H was in his early 20s when another vehicle cut across his path, resulting in him being thrown from his motorbike and incurring very serious leg injuries. Sadly doctors were unable to save his lower leg and foot and he had to have a below-knee amputation which has clearly had a major impact on all aspects of his life.
A keen sportsman, he has now had to adapt to take part in wheelchair sports; his return to work has been on a part-time basis into a different role; he has needed to learn to drive an adapted vehicle and he has needed help with many things that he previously did for himself. He will also find life much easier if he lives in a bungalow rather than a two storey house.
Ashtons comments: “Mr H has coped very well with the changes that have been forced upon him through no fault of his own, in spite of some initial problems with his prosthetics. No amount of money can truly restore his life to exactly how it was before he was injured and lost his lower leg but this settlement will ensure that he can live as full a life as possible, including giving him access to the latest privately-purchased prosthetics which will significantly improve his mobility and ability to participate in a wide range of activities.”
