Sacked college head launches race discrimination claim

A former college head has claimed he was sacked for being a white Christian and launched an employment law case as a result.Professor Malory Nye was recently dismissed from the Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education in Dundee, Scotland, and says this was because its hierarchy deemed him to be a threat to its Muslim values.His wife Isabel Campbell-Nye is also claiming she was forced out of her role as head of the college’s English language centre as a result of racial discrimination.”My face and lack of Muslim faith no longer fit,” commented Professor Nye on his dismissal from the college, which is sponsored by the Dubai royal family.”Multiculturalism and respect for cultural and religious differences are, I had thought, core values of the college,” he added.Dr Eva Michalak recently won £4.5 million in a race discrimination case against the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust after claiming she was forced out of her job.
