£95,000 settlement obtained for road traffic collision passenger

Siobhan McWhinney, a personal injury specialist in Ashtons Legal’s Thetford office, has obtained £95,000 compensation for a Suffolk lady in her twenties who suffered severe injuries when the car in which she was travelling was hit head on by an oncoming vehicle. Ms T suffered a number of severe fractures, extensive bruising and psychological injuries as a result of the incident. Her friend, who was driving, died shortly after the collision as a result of her injuries.

Siobhan comments: “This incident was tragic on many levels, not least because Ms T had to see her friend suffer considerable pain and incurred psychological injuries as a result as well as being physically injured. As became evident during the Inquest into the driver’s death, the response by the ambulance service was slower than would normally be expected which made the situation more difficult for everyone concerned.”
