£55,000 for widow of Suffolk man whose bowel condition was misdiagnosed

Julie Crossley, a medical injury specialist at Ashtons Legal, has obtained £55,000 for the widow of a self-employed Suffolk man after his local hospital failed to diagnose his ischaemic colitis and instead referred him inappropriately for cardiac treatment at another hospital where he passed away.  With an appropriate timely diagnosis it is likely that Mr C would have undergone two-stage surgery and, whilst he would potentially have been unable to work for a number of months, he would then have been able to live a normal life and return to part-time employment.   Instead, a two day hospital stay and a series of flaws in the monitoring and diagnostic process were followed by Mr C’s untimely death.
