Siobhan McWhinney, a personal injury specialist at Ashtons Legal, has obtained a £55,000 settlement for Mr B, a vintage motorcycle enthusiast in his 70s from Essex who was injured following a head on collision with another rider. The incident took place during a vintage motorbike rally in 2011.

Siobhan comments: “Fortunately Mr B was only travelling at around 15 mph at the time of the collision otherwise his injuries might have been far more serious or possibly fatal. Even at this speed however he was knocked unconscious, suffered a minor brain injury, a fracture, bruising and soft tissue injuries. As we approach the time of year when vintage vehicles take to the roads, and fair weather motorcyclists are out in force, it is vital that all motorists remember just how vulnerable motorcyclists are to injury in the event of a collision and ‘think bike’ at all times.”
