Rachel Stowe, a member of the Ashtons Legal personal injury team, has shown the importance of perseverance when it comes to pursuing claims against hit and run drivers.  The victim of the hit and run rear end shunt was left with the offending vehicle’s number plate embedded in his car boot.  The driver’s insurer tried to deny responsibility, alleging that the vehicle was cloned, so the claim was submitted to the Motor Insurers Bureau (MIB) under the untraced drivers agreement.  The MIB rejected the claim on the basis that it did not meet the criteria but we appealed this and the matter went to arbitration. The arbitrator allowed the appeal and we obtained £2,900 to compensate our client for his whiplash injury.
