Over £5,000 in damages for incorrect tooth extraction
Posted 13/05/2012
Benjamin Ward, a specialist medical injury solicitor at Ashtons Legal, has obtained a settlement of ?5,000 for a woman from Norfolk who suffered an incorrect tooth extraction by her dentist. Her NHS dentist accidentally removed a healthy molar, rather than the one which was troubling her. This caused considerable pain as the local anaesthetic had been given in the correct place for the tooth which should have been extracted rather than the one which was removed.Benjamin comments: “This was an excellent settlement which shows what can be achieved with early communication between both parties legal representatives. Only three months passed between the initial instruction and settling the matter which is almost unheard of for medical injury claims. My client’s compensation will enable her to cover the cost of having a replacement tooth implanted as well as recognising the pain and suffering she incurred.”If you have a medical injury claim and would like to discuss this with either Benjamin or one of our medical injury specialists, please contact Ashtons Legal on 01842 768747.
