Over £100,000 obtained for head injury suffered during a fall

Ashtons Legal personal injury specialist Diane Hilton has obtained a settlement of over £100,000 for Ms T after she fell and hit her head on the ground when being carried in a fireman’s lift by a friend who stumbled and dropped her. She sustained significant head injuries including a skull fracture and is still suffering from headaches, short term memory problems and anxiety.

Diane comments: “Sometimes when people stumble and fall and injure themselves, for instance as the result of an uneven pavement, we bring a claim against the owner of the land. This case was very different. The claim was brought against the friend who had picked Ms T up, and subsequently dropped her, without her consent. Fortunately he had relevant insurance against which we could claim and this will ensure that Ms T has access to the treatment she needs to ensure her continued rehabilitation from her injuries.”
