A compensation claim for £500,000 has been launched by the mother of a schoolgirl who was left with brain damage as a result of a car accident.

Alexandra Park School student Anita Konkel needs 24-hour care as a result of the crash in Muswell Hill in April last year and Dorothy Kasprus has launched legal action against the driver.

The Tottenham and Wood Green Journal reports that Ms Kasprus claims the help her daughter is receiving at the moment is unacceptable.

“She needs everyday help with speech and language and the service she’s receiving is not enough,” she said.

It is claimed the driver of the vehicle that hit Anita could have avoided the accident had she hit her brakes, although she was not prosecuted following the crash.

Earlier this year, Andrew Chin was awarded a sum of £3.6 million by a court in Liverpool, after he was left with severe head injuries as a result of a car accident.

If you’ve suffered an injury as the result of an accident at work, the personal injury team at Ashtons Legal will be happy to advise you on whether you have a claim.
