The coalition government has been urged to do more to encourage individuals to draft Wills.According to Brian McMillan, director-general at the Society of Will Writers, more could be done by the state to increase the number of people covered by Wills in the UK.He explained that even though most people know what a Will is and what the benefits of one are, around two-thirds of adults in the UK (67 per cent) still do not have one.”In today’s world of greater wealth and more complex families there has never been greater need to make a Will,” said Mr McMillan, who noted this can ensure people can provide for their loved ones, as well as others who depend on them after their death. Some individuals are put off making a Will as they do not want to think about death, but the document is the only way they can ensure possessions and assets are split as they would want in the event of an accident.
