£50,000 interim payment obtained for mesothelioma sufferer within two months of diagnosis

An asbestos-related disease claim specialist at Ashtons Legal has obtained an admission of liability and an interim payment of £50,000 for Mr T who was diagnosed with mesothelioma in January 2018.

Mr T started work as an electrical engineer in a factory environment in Norfolk in the 1960s and remained with the same employer for over 25 years.

Ashtons comments: “Mr T was aware that the premises were riddled with asbestos during the early part of his career and that he had been exposed to it. He was therefore alert to the possibility of developing mesothelioma. Having received his diagnosis he came to see us immediately.

“Because his work history details were all readily available and his former employers still trading and properly insured, we have been able to get an early interim settlement to help improve his current quality of life while we work to finalise the full value of his claim.”
