House prices in France are expected to level off over the course of the year. This is according to Graham Downie, founder of Cognac Property Services, who pointed out the market in the European country hit a wall in 2008-09.He explained this saw the number of transactions tail off, which also resulted in the average cost of a home in the nation fall. But there have been gains in house prices in the last three years, although Mr Downie stated he believes this will slow down in the coming months.”France is a series of hundreds of different micro markets, some of which might see small price rises and others may well see small falls,” he said.Lindsay de Feliz, marketing manager at Expat Focus, recently noted a good, honest lawyer is a must for anyone considering buying homes in France, due to the fact there are many laws that are different to those in the UK.Posted by Matthew Cameron
