For many areas of the law, offering fixed fee services is something of a new idea, with Solicitors traditionally charging for services on an hourly basis.  With Residential Conveyancing, however, fixed fees have been considered the norm for a long time.

Despite this some commentators have stated that “The conveyancing market is long overdue for a shake-up, people are simply not happy with the value received for their money or service provided.  People want certainty of price, with no hidden extras and access to their conveyancer when they need them.”

At Ashtons Legal we have always provided a fixed fee for our services with no hidden extras.  This ensures we never have to deal with Clients’ complaints at increased legal fees for conveyancing when they come to pay the bill – the so called “Fee Ambush”.

When you contact us for a quote, you will be given a fixed price up front, no hidden fees and no hourly charges.  The quote will also include a list of all the other expenses that you will incur based on the information that you have supplied to us, for example the £6.00 fee to obtain a copy of the title to your property.   As these other expenses may not be familiar to everyone we will provide explanations of what they relate to.  We will try to be as accurate as possible with these other expenses, but depending on your circumstances, these may need to be fully confirmed once they are known.  Our fees, will however be the fixed figure confirmed to you at the start.

We have extended working hours compared to most firms so our Conveyancing Lawyers are available when you need us.  We also have an on-line tracking facility which allows you to view your file online whenever you want 24 hours a day, even if we are closed!  In addition to this, we ensure that clients are provided with direct contact details (telephone, email and where relevant mobile) for the person dealing with their transaction so you do not get the “run around” when trying to contact us.
