Firms reveal East Anglia job creation

East Anglia has been boosted by the news two of the country’s biggest brand names are set to create hundreds of jobs in the region.A new home and gardens superstore is being built at Martlesham Heath, near Ipswich, by Next, while Greggs is spending £1 million on a new bakery in Norwich.The Eastern Daily Press quoted a spokesman for Greggs as stating the city was chosen for the location as the firm believes East Anglia is an area in which it can open more stores.Some 150 new jobs could be set to be created by the company in the region by the end of the year.The East Anglian Daily Times reports that the move by Next into the Beardmore Park retail estate will result in 250 jobs for the area.A Focus DIY store was previously housed in the building, but the company went into administration due to its financial problems.Posted by Hywel Griffiths
