Customers of a blinds company in Norfolk have been left out of pocket after the organisation went into liquidation.Melton Blinds’ new business address at the Flitcham Barns workshop units are closed and Companies House shows the firm has been shut down after 30 years of operations.Speaking to the Lynn News, Faye Cook explained that her and husband Hal handed over a cheque for £750 to the company’s director Richard Melton, who insisted they made it out to the firm’s parent company Shading and Shutters. The cheque was cashed and Mr Melton assured them the blinds would be fitted by the end of August, but they have not heard from the company since.”They seemed a well-established company and our neighbours are in the same boat as us, having paid out a deposit but now not being able to contact them,” Ms Cook said.Earlier this month, it was announced that 60 members of staff at Marsham-based window manufacturer Norfolk Frames have lost their jobs due to the liquidation of the organisation, reported the Eastern Daily Press.
