Compensation following laser eye surgery
Posted 17/01/2011
Julie Crossley, a clinical negligence lawyer at Ashtons Legal, has obtained compensation for Mrs P following unnecessary delay in performing a ‘flap lift’ to correct the ‘striae’ (corneal wrinkles) which were the side-effects of her surgery. Although the long-term outcome has been satisfactory, Mrs P suffered several weeks of severe distress and impaired vision. Experts confirmed that the problem should have been spotted and the corrective procedure performed the week after the initial surgery took place.
