Charities combine for Wills campaign
Posted 11/09/2011
Individuals are being encouraged to leave money to charities in their Wills via the launch of a new campaign.
Some 140 organisations are joining forces for the drive, which has been set up in order to highlight the importance of sending these gifts to charities.
Ashley Rowthorn, legacy marketing manager at the Alzheimer’s Society, stated that the body relies on the generosity of people who leave money to it in their Wills.
He said: “Many people in the UK don’t realise that they can give money to charities like Alzheimer’s Society in this way.”
Mr Rowthorn added that even the smallest amount of cash can help to make a difference.
Remember a Charity Week was established in 2009 and famous faces have got behind the campaign in order to raise awareness among the general public.
Celebrities including Dame Judi Dench, Timothy Spall, Margaret Mountford and Gordon Ramsay are some of those to have taken part in the event.
