A Cambridgeshire woman has called for action to be taken over a dangerous road after claiming for compensation for an accident she suffered while driving.

Jo Howard, 22, has called for other drivers who have suffered accidents or personal injury on the road between Manea and Chatteris to come forward and prompt action to keep it clear of mud.

Ms Howard suffered injury and ongoing pain after her vehicle lost traction in a muddy patch on Byall Fen Drove, causing her to career into a ditch, reports the Cambs Times.

The victim is now taking legal action over the incident and hopes that her case will lead to safety improvements in the area.

She said: “I know a lot of people have come off that road and something needs to be done because it is so dangerous.”

This comes after the Consumer Council for Northern Ireland last week told the BBC that those who suffer personal injury in a car crash should look to exercise their legal right to compensation claims.
