Ashtons Legal takes part in Accumulator Challenge for St Nicholas Hospice
Posted 10/10/2012
Ashtons Legal has raised over £700 for the Towergate Accumulator Challenge. This is the third year of the challenge which pits local businesses against one another to raise funds for St Nicholas Hospice Care in Bury St Edmunds.
In June, the Ashtons Legal team were given £50 by sponsors Towergate Insurance and were given three months to turn the investment into as much money as possible. The money was raised by selling Recipe Books in each of our offices; staff from across the firm supplied their favourite recipes and photos. The team also sold advertising space on the Ashtons Legal website to local companies and suppliers.
In total, 52 businesses took part in the challenge and a staggering £65,549 was raised overall – £25,000 more than last year!
2011 Apprentice winner, Tom Pellereau, attended the competition’s closing evening to present prizes to the companies who had raised the most money.
Our staff have also been busy fundraising for the three charities we are supporting this year. Richard Foyster (Partner in the Personal Injury team), Geoff Hazlewood (Partner in the Corporate and Commercial team) and Sue Bailey (Associate in the Family team), took part in the Ipswich Larking Gowen Half Marathon on 23 September and have raised over £1,000 for Ipswich and East Suffolk Headway, EACH and Big C.
