Ashtons Legal sponsors farming conservation competition

  • Posted

Ashtons Legal is delighted to be sponsoring the Suffolk FWAG (Farming & Wildlife Advisory Group) Farm Conservation Competition once again this year.

Suffolk FWAG is a not for profit organisation providing environmental and conservation advice to farmers and landowners.

The competition has been running for over 30 years and celebrates farms which combine conservation and environmental stewardship with running commercial businesses. Ashtons Legal has played an active role as sponsors of the competition, which we have supported since 1992. Our team of agricultural lawyers cover all aspects of the law relating to farmers, landowners and agri-business and we have been helping many of the region’s agricultural businesses for a number of years.

The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a presentation evening on Wednesday 21 November at Trinity Park, Ipswich, with guest speaker, Johann Tasker, Chief Reporter for Farmers Weekly and Editor of Anglia Farmer magazine. The evening will be hosted by Glenn Buckingham, Chairman of Suffolk FWAG.

Simon Cunningham, Agriculture & Estates Partner at Ashtons Legal was on the judging panel and visited each of the farms this summer. He said: “It was a most enjoyable day. It is always interesting to see how completely different farming operations approach their commitments to the environment and each of the finalists certainly demonstrated their commitment.”
