Ashtons Legal represents families at Great Yarmouth construction deaths Inquest

The inquest opens next week (Monday 10th February) at Sprowston Manor Hotel in Norwich into the tragic deaths in January 2011 of four men who were working on a construction site in Great Yarmouth.
Daniel Hazelton (30), Tom Hazelton (26), Peter Johnson (41) and Adam Taylor (28) were all killed in an incident on Claxton Engineering’s site on North River Road during which they were trapped when the steel structure in which they were working collapsed. The men were from Stanton and Rickinghall in Suffolk, and three of the four had young families.
A personal injury specialist at Ashtons Legal solicitors, will be representing the men’s families. They comment:
“The incident has already been the subject of a joint investigation between the Norfolk Constabulary and the Health & Safety Executive.
The project on which the men were working was a pressure test facility for the oil and gas industry. Although taking place on the Claxton Engineering site, the project was being run by Encompass Project Management Limited who had sub-contracted work to Hazegood Construction Limited. The structure on which they were working was designed by URS Infrastructure and Environment UK Limited. One of those killed was a director of Hazegood Construction Limited and the other men who died were employed by Hazegood.
From the families’ perspective there are many questions which remain unanswered and we will be attending the inquest on their behalf in order to provide any assistance we can to Coroner Jacqueline Lake in ascertaining the exact circumstances that led to their tragic deaths.”
