Ashtons Legal raises over £13,000 for local charities

Ashtons Legal has raised £13,200 for three local charities – East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), Big C and Headway. The firm has been supporting the charities through a Charity of the Year partnership since April 2012.The funds have been raised by staff taking part in dress down days, cakes sales and a range of sporting activities, including the Larking Gowen half marathon, a 125 mile bike ride, a sky dive, hats for headway and santa runs in aid of EACH. A ‘Wills Week’ initiative, which took place in February 2013, raised £2,200.A charity bowling event, which took place on 21 March in Ipswich, marked the end of the firm’s fundraising year. The event was attended by 16 local firms and raised over £1,700. Sue Bailey (Chair of Ashtons Legal’s Corporate Social Responsibility committee) and Paul Whittingham (Ashtons Legal Partner) are pictured above presenting a cheque to Nikki Brown (EACH Suffolk Fundraiser) at the event.In addition to the amount raised for the three charities, £2,000 was also raised for Comic Relief and St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds.Edward O’Rourke, CEO at Ashtons Legal, commented: “I would like to thank all our staff who have worked really hard over the past year to achieve this phenomenal amount of money.
