Ashtons Legal partner and Family Law Solicitor, Ian Winterbone, has qualified for the Law Society Advanced Accreditation Panel for Ancillary Relief and Violence in the Home. Membership of the panel has involved completing the Law Society’s rigorous assessment and accreditation process and demonstrates Ian’s expertise and in depth knowledge in two areas of family law – financial matters in relationship breakdown and domestic violence.

The aim behind the Law Society’s accreditation schemes is to promote high standards in the provision of legal services and ensure that clients are able to identify legal practitioners with proven and specialist competency in particular areas of law. Our membership of the panel demonstrates expertise in these areas and provides assurance to clients that we can provide advice in the most complex family law cases.

Ian has over 30 years’ experience as a family lawyer, with extensive experience in court applications and also Collaborative Law. He was one of the first 100 lawyers in the UK to qualify in this fresh new approach to resolving relationship disputes.

Ian joins other family solicitors Brenda Head, Elizabeth Sneade and Stephen Williams who have already achieved specialist accreditation in other areas of divorce and  family law to give clients a service based on strength and depth of legal expertise.
