Ashtons Legal injury lawyers get back on their bikes
Posted 14/05/2013
Last year, Ruth Booy (Ashtons Legal partner and Head of Injury Services) and Justina Molloy (Personal Injury associate), cycled 125 miles around the Cambridge area to raise funds for the brain injury charity, Headway. Now they are gearing themselves up for another cycling challenge! They will be taking part in an east to west coast bike ride, tackling just under 400 miles in four days. This will be part of the ‘Bobby on a Bike’ ride, which Ashtons Legal is sponsoring this year. The Bobby on a Bike Campaign has been raising money for charities through cycling challenges for 13 years and has raised over £100,000 to date. The idea, which began with one police officer at Suffolk Constabulary in 2000, has inspired many people to jump on their bikes and raise funds for local and national causes. This year’s ride is the largest so far with 54 men and 7 women participating. The ride will start on 19 May in Aldeburgh, and travel through the relatively flat county of Suffolk to Comberton near Cambridge. Day two will see Ruth and Justina cycle 105 miles from Comberton to Stratford upon Avon. On day three they will cycle through the Cotswolds and Wye Valley, ending in Three Cocks, Wales. Day four requires them to tackle the relentless hills and mountains of mid Wales, heading to the coast, near Aberystwyth, having travelled a total of 378 miles.Ruth and Justina will be raising funds for SSAFA (The National Armed Forces Charity) and Magpas (The Emergency Medical Charity), which is currently one of Ashtons Legal’s charities of the year.To donate, please go to:http://www.ssafa.org.uk/
