Ashtons Legal helped Secret Millionaire

Did anyone watching Secret Millionaire on Channel 4 last night stop to wonder which law firm Matthew Newbury had used for his compensation claim? Yes, it was regional injury specialists Ashtons Legal (then Cunningham John). The highest ever award for a single amputee was essentially based on the fact that Matthew was a young man and would need sufficient prosthetic legs to keep him mobile for the rest of his life, an adapted property, and that he would not be able to pursue his original chosen career so should be compensated for lost earnings.

Our aim is always to help people put their lives back on track … it is brilliant to see that Matthew has gone on to be very successful in his new chosen direction and in addition to not needing to rely on the NHS for any of his future care, is now seeking to help others with similar mobility problems.
