It has been another successful year for Ashtons Legal in the independent review of UK law firms, The Legal 500, which was published yesterday. Having joined East Anglia’s ‘regional heavyweights’ for the first time in 2012, the 2013 guide shows the firm as a strong contender in the region alongside other major regional players, being described as a ‘first-rate firm’ and a ‘very competent, efficient firm, and undoubtedly one of the leaders in the region’.Notable achievements this year include:• The firm’s Agriculture and Estates team has moved up the rankings to tier one• Banking and Finance has moved up to tier two• The firm has been ranked in the new Contentious Trusts and Probate category• The consistently top tier ranked injury teams continue to enjoy success, with the Clinical Negligence and Personal Injury teams achieving tier one rankings• Ashtons Legal’s niche areas of Franchising and French Legal Services are given particular recognition this year. We also have six ‘leading individuals’ who have retained their status from 2012, including Partner and CEO, Edward O’Rourke.Commenting on this year’s review, Edward O’Rourke said: “We are delighted with the results of this year’s Legal 500, with many of our teams and individual lawyers across the region receiving glowing recommendations. In the two years since the firm’s merger, we have invested heavily in our commercial teams and it is reassuring to see this area of the business going from strength to strength. We see strong opportunities in 2014, particularly in our niche markets and we are committed to providing the level of service that both businesses and individuals expect.”For further information, please see: www.legal500.com and the reviews page of our website.
