Ashtons Legal client has Head4Adventure
Posted 04/07/2011
Ashtons Legal partner Ruth Booy has obtained a compensation settlement which will enable her client Liam Scott to maximise his quality of life in spite of the brain injuries he suffered as the result of a road traffic collision in 2005.
Liam was a passenger in a car travelling down the A10 when their vehicle was hit by an oncoming car whose driver had lost control of his vehicle and was on the wrong side of the road. Liam suffered serious injuries to both his body and his head as a result of the impact and spend a month in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.
Liam still suffers from a range of significant physical, cognitive and intellectual problems which render him dependent on others for most aspects of his daily care. As part of his rehabilitation he enjoys activity holidays run by Head4Adventure. The settlement negotiated by Ashtons Legal will enable him to carry on with these holidays in the future alongside his regular rehabilitation and care regime.
Head4Adventure specialise in providing short breaks or respite care for children and young adults with brain injury.
Ruth Booy says: “Money can never fully compensate for what individuals and families lose, and have to learn to cope with, in circumstances like these. What it can do is to improve the quality of life for both the injured person and their family and it is lovely to see the effect that Head4Adventure is having on Liam”.
