Ashtons awarded IIP Gold
Posted 14/07/2016
Ashtons Legal (Ashtons) are delighted to announce they have been awarded with the people management standard, Investors in People (IIP) Gold.
The IIP standard has been around since 1991 and is currently held by 14,000 organisations across the world. Following a recent visit by Investors in People Practitioner Claire Laidler, 36 staff were interviewed and Claire’s outcome states that Ashtons Legal met 125 evidence requirements from the assessment. Along with 48 from the 2015 IIP assessment this meant the firm met a total of 173 evidence requirements and were therefore awarded with the Investors in People Gold Level.
Although common place in the legal profession, Ashtons are the only legal firm in East Anglia to be accredited with the Gold level standard. Accreditation against the IIP Standard is the sign of a great employer, an outperforming place to work and a clear commitment to sustainability.
Ashtons CEO, Ed O’Rourke, commented: “I am honoured to lead Ashtons and being recognised at IIP Gold level signifies that our staff feel the same way as I do about the firm. We have always strived to differentiate ourselves from our competitors and one of the comments from Claire Laidler was that Ashtons are seen as going beyond what is offered in many other law firms with a genuine interest in listening and responding to feedback, ideas and suggestions from our staff.”
Antony Sloan, HR Director, added: “I am hugely grateful to the staff who have worked so hard to make Ashtons a great place to work and am humbled by some of the comments that were included in our assessment report such as ‘it’s a company you want to get out of bed and come and work for’, ‘they get the fundamentals right, all along they are building on solid foundations’ and ‘we are always looking to make things better’.”
