Personal injury specialist Hannah Rutterford has just won her second Court of Appeal case in 2 years. The first case, won in 2008, was a local fatal accident claim. This time it was a claim on behalf of an amputee who lost his leg when he fell under a train in London. The case was taken to the Court of Appeal by the defendants, Silverlink, who had been unhappy with Ashtons Legal’s victory in the High Court last autumn. The Court of Appeal has now upheld the decision that the train guard was negligent and that Paul Collins-Williamson should be compensated for losing a leg and two fingers when he fell under a train at Gunnersbury Station in 2003.
