£225,000 obtained for shoulder injury after an accident at work
Tom Ranson, a personal injury specialist, obtained compensation of £225,000 for Mr S following severe shoulder injuries he suffered during an accident at work.
Mr S was attempting to open the curtain of a trailer when a strap gave way, causing him to fall and land on his shoulder. As a result, Mr S suffered a permanent shoulder injury, which required surgery and extensive rehabilitation treatment.
Despite this, Mr S was unable to return to his pre-accident duties and had to change roles within the company and in the end he had to retire early on the grounds of ill health.Liability was hotly disputed by the insurers throughout, who blamed each other and Mr S for the accident. Despite this, Ashtons were able to negotiate a significant settlement for Mr S at a round table meeting, which Mr S attended.
Tom Ranson comments “The shoulder injuries Mr S suffered were serious and life-changing and it was vital that he was appropriately compensated for this. However, with liability disputed, it was only after Court proceedings were issued that the insurers were willing to consider the claim.”
