£170,000 obtained for whiplash injury
Personal injury lawyer, Tom Ranson, obtained £170,000 compensation for a lady who suffered a significant whiplash injury.
Mrs B’s car was written off when she was stuck heavily from behind by another car.
Mrs B suffered a serious whiplash injury to her neck and back and was off work for over three months before returning to ‘light duties’.
The medical expert instructed on Mrs B’s behalf advised that her injuries were permanent and a direct result of the accident. The medical expert instructed on behalf of the other driver’s insurers felt that they were related to her age and any injury caused by the accident was minor and short-lived. The insurers also subjected Mrs B to extensive ‘covert’ surveillance.
Despite their medical expert’s view and their failed attempts to discredit her, the insurers offered £50,000 and after negotiations, with a Court date set for the New Year, a settlement of £170,000 was reached.
Tom Ranson comments: “In this hard-fought case and with the backing of Ashtons and her medical expert, Mrs B refused to be intimidated and allowed us to secure the right level of compensation for her.”
