Uplifted settlement obtained for injured East Anglian driver
Roger Loomes, a specialist personal injury lawyer at Ashtons Legal, has successfully settled Mr C’s personal injury claim for 50% more than the other party’s insurers were trying to offer.
Mr C’s vehicle was shunted off the road by a car and somersaulted before coming to rest to the side of the carriageway. Liability was never admitted and extensive investigations were required.
Mr C was knocked unconscious and suffered physical injuries, primarily to his head, neck and arms. He suffered post-traumatic amnesia and went on to display a range of cognitive, behavioural and psychological injuries.
Before he incurred his injuries, Mr C was a strong member of his team at work. He had good physical and mental strength and stamina and was someone that others regularly turned to for assistance. He had envisaged his current employer as being his ‘job for life’. Although he was determined to go back to work after being injured, he is no longer able to perform at the same level and his employers have needed to adapt his role.
Roger Loomes comments: “It is unlikely that Mr C is going to be able to continue in his current role long-term given his injuries. The settlement we achieved will help to ensure that he is not at a financial disadvantage from having to move to an alternative lower-paid line of work for the rest of his life and will also ensure he has access to further rehabilitation support.”
Mr C adds: “Roger was fantastic. I am delighted that I chose him and his team to represent me. His expertise, understanding, guidance and support throughout were very reassuring and led to a result far beyond my expectations.”
