Claim settled for crush injury sustained at work

  • Posted

Personal injury specialist Mick Upton has obtained a substantial six-figure settlement for a man whose foot was crushed in an incident at work.

His employer’s insurers initially denied liability, later accepted that the employers were partially responsible, but eventually had to concede that they were wholly to blame for his injuries.

During the course of the claim, we obtained extensive rehabilitation support to assist our client with both his physical and psychological symptoms, financial support where needed, and case management support to assist with all aspects of getting his life back on track after being injured. His settlement includes a substantial element for the fact that he has returned to work in a lower-paid role.

Mick comments: “This is a classic example of a personal injury claim where perseverance was key to success. The employer’s insurers were very reluctant to admit that our client was in no way responsible for his crushed foot, and it took extensive investigations to prove otherwise. Fortunately, our client has now obtained the compensation he deserved for an injury that was not his fault and is now able to move forward with his life.”
