£63,000 settlement obtained where £2,200 initially offered

Mick Upton, a personal injury specialist at Ashtons, has recently settled the injury claim of a woman who suffered severe soft tissue injuries to her neck and back when another vehicle drove into the rear of her car.

The other driver’s insurers refused to fund treatment and initially offered her a very low amount in compensation, but we facilitated access to physiotherapy and osteopathy that she required and were eventually successful in obtaining an appropriate settlement for her.

In reality, soft tissue injuries can vary considerably in severity and impact, and this needs to be reflected in the level of compensation offered.
