£2 million settlement for client who suffered an upper limb amputation

Alexandra Lush, a solicitor in our serious injury claim team at Ashtons Legal, has recently settled the personal injury claim of Mr F, who suffered life-changing injuries as the result of an incident at work in which he was dragged under the wheels of an HGV.

Mr F unfortunately had to have his upper right arm amputated and sustained very serious degloving injuries to his legs. Whilst liability was contested, this did not prevent us from obtaining access to rehabilitation treatment and support for our client. Mr F was further supported by our in-house rehabilitation and benefits advisors.

Alexandra says: “Mr F suffered horrendous injuries in this workplace incident, and it was very important from the outset to make sure he was supported to be as independent as possible in managing tasks of daily living both inside and outside of the home. We also needed to ensure that he would be seen by leading medical experts and experts in prosthetics. Mr F’s injuries not only had a catastrophic impact on his life but also that of his family and particularly his wife, to whom he is devoted. The accident and injuries suffered by Mr F taught me a lot about resilience and the strength of family.
