£125,000 settlement for Hertfordshire moped rider
Mick Upton and Tony Shord, personal injury claim specialists at Ashtons Legal, have settled for £125,000 the claim of Mr T, a man in his 40s who was knocked off his moped by another vehicle.
He suffered a range of injuries, primarily broken bones, which left him in hospital initially, then bed-bound at home for a considerable period and then on crutches for a further two months. Further complications followed the surgery to correct his fractures and he has been left with a limp and a tendency to breathlessness.
Tony Shord comments: “Fortunately for Mr T, the Ashtons team was able to obtain early interim funding from the vehicle driver’s insurers which enabled him to have the private medical care that he needed to help him get his life back on track following this horrible road collision. Against the expectation of the medical experts, he has been able to return to his previous employed role, despite his permanent injuries. His compensation will allow him the financial security to reduce his hours as required in the future though, if, as expected, he continues to struggle standing for long periods.”
