£10,000 obtained for injured cyclist
Ashtons’ personal injury specialist Tim Gleave has obtained £10,000 for a man from Bury St Edmunds who was knocked off his bicycle by another vehicle. He suffered a fractured hip but fortunately made a good recovery.
Tim adds: “Back in 2018, over 13,000 cyclists suffered minor injuries as a result of incidents that occurred while on the roads, over 4,000 suffered serious injuries, and just under 100 were killed. From a general health perspective, it is excellent news that so many more people have taken up cycling during 2020. It is important however that all cyclists take sensible steps to protect themselves while out on the road and that drivers of other vehicles take good care to look for cyclists and overtake them safely. Otherwise, there is a danger that these statistics may be higher in the years to come.”
