£1 million personal injury settlement obtained for Essex man
Richard Foyster, who heads the Ashtons Legal personal injury team, has settled the injury claim of an Essex man who sustained a brain injury when he was involved in a road traffic collision.
Mr Y’s treatment and recovery were complicated by the fact that he had a pre-existing diagnosis of ADHD. The incident and resulting injury have completely changed Mr Y’s life. He suffered many psychological and cognitive difficulties after the accident, particularly with fatigue, employment, and mental capacity. With support from Ashtons and his rehabilitation team, he has made a significant recovery.
Richard Foyster comments: “It was difficult to prove which symptoms were caused or worsened by the accident due to the subtle nature of the brain injury, the pre-existing ADHD, and the fact that the treating doctors initially misinterpreted the CT scan that was taken of the brain in the aftermath of the accident his rehabilitation team was fantastic and he can now move forwards, all be it that his future will never be the one he would have envisaged prior to the road collision. His settlement cannot change this, but it will make his life easier”.
