COVID-19 and the EU Settlement Scheme
The Home Office has confirmed that applications to the EU Settlement Scheme are still live and open, although the processing of applications may take longer at the present time due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Certain support services have also been suspended following Public Health England Guidance including:
- the telephone service at the Settlement Resolution Centre will be suspended, although they will still be answering email enquiries
- ID scanner locations have been suspended
- the postal route for submitting ID evidence has been suspended.
Applications made online and submission of ID in this manner remain open. The Home Office has reassured individuals who are struggling to submit their full application that there are still 15 months to apply for settled status before the deadline of 30 June 2021.
