Supporting The Royal British Legion
To add support to The Royal British Legion’s annual Poppy Appeal, Ashtons Legal have changed the logo to incorporate a Poppy. We hope you like it.
With England in a second lockdown, it’s even harder for The British Royal Legion to raise their much-needed funds in 2020. Not only that, but any Remembrance Day celebrations were held in private, in very small invitation-only gatherings or were virtual to ensure they were COVID secure.
Here at Ashtons, we recognise that it’s hard for all charities, not just The Royal British Legion. A report in the charity sector say that 98% of charities are ‘somewhat’ or ‘very’ concerned about the impact that COVID-19 has on their ability to raise funds. While another report estimates that charities will have a shortfall of 24% of their income i.e. some £12.4bn of cash.
So besides continuing to support our chosen charities of the year (Inspire Suffolk, Suffolk Mind, Zoological Society of East Anglia, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Sunflowers and St George’s Crypt) we are supporting The Royal British Legion by:
Making a donation as a firm.
Asking staff to make a simple donation equivalent to what they would have spent on a poppy, a badge or a wristband. Donate here https://www.britishlegion.org.uk/get-involved/ways-to-give/donate
For the few visitors (by appointment only) to our offices, inviting them to buy a poppy from the donation boxes in some reception areas.
Encouraging staff, clients and contacts to buy a poppy or merchandise from The Poppy Shop. Visit here https://www.poppyshop.org.uk/
