Award victory for Ashtons Legal at LawNet 2017 Awards
Ashtons Legal came up trumps at the LawNet 2017 Awards when winners were announced at the annual LawNet conference on Friday 10 November at Heythrop Park in Oxfordshire.
LawNet is a national network of over 60 independent law firms who are committed to rigorous quality standards and best practice. The prestigious LawNet awards are judged not by lawyers but by relevant external specialists. This year, there were eight award categories and Ashtons won the ‘Best Digital Presence’ category. This recognised the firm’s strategy which is to maintain a wide-reaching digital presence across multiple platforms which builds awareness and trust in the firm’s brand and services.
The judges noted the use of the firm’s digital crisis management strategy which was implemented this year when the firm’s website was cloned by some individuals in Russia at the end of June 2017.
So impressive was the firm’s response and immediate actions taken that a Cyber Security expert documented their praise in the Law Society Gazette. As a result of these actions, Ashtons prevented at least three people from being scammed in the USA, and the firm have been contacted by and advised two other UK law firms who have been the victims of similar cyber crimes.
Ashtons CEO, Ed O’Rourke, commented: “I am hugely proud of this win and of all who contributed to it. It is the fifth time we have won an award for our digital marketing and each time we have been able to demonstrate further developments we are making in the fast moving digital world. Special thanks go to our website developers, Netmatters, who played a key role in helping us to win this award. ”
