Ashtons Charitable Trust supports four new charities in 2022
Ashtons Legal has announced that it will be supporting four charities in 2022 through the Ashtons Charitable Trust and the Charities of the Year initiative. They are East Anglian Children’s Hospices, Royal Papworth Charity, Support After Rape Leeds and The Feed.
Each year, Ashtons Legal staff nominate and vote for the charities they wish to support. Funds are raised through the firm’s internal and external events, charitable giving sites such as Amazon Smile and The Giving Machine, the Ashtons Legal Wills Campaign and through staff undertaking personal and sporting challenges. Funds are distributed to the Charities of the Year and some direct applications for funding through the Ashtons Charitable Trust which was set up in 2014 with the remit of fundraising for local charities and causes in the Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk and Leeds areas where the firm has offices.
In 2021, the Ashtons Charitable Trust donated £10,500 to such causes and hope that 2022 sees this figure increase.
Janette Wand, partner and Chair of Ashtons Legal’s CSR Committee said: “We are really pleased to be supporting such worthwhile causes in 2022 and whilst we recognise that the current climate is making fundraising for charities more and more difficult we will be supporting our staff to get involved in as many fundraising activities as possible throughout the year.”
East Anglian Children’s Hospices (EACH) support families and care for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
Royal Papworth Charity provides vital funding for projects across Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridgeshire and bridges the gap between NHS funding and the reality of providing world leading care in a state-of-the-art hospital pushing the boundaries of heart and lung disease treatment.
Support After Rape Leeds is a dedicated Rape Crisis Centre for all women and girls in Leeds affected by rape and sexual violence.
The Feed are a social enterprise whose mission it is to motivate change in people to prevent poverty, hunger and homelessness in Norwich.
