Ashtons renew sponsorship involvement with Bury St Edmunds RUFC
As Bury St Edmunds RUFC begins its journey back towards normality, it is pleased to be retaining the sponsorship of local businesses, including Ashtons Legal.
Ashtons has been involved with the Bury Rugby Club for a number of years and, having previously sponsored items of kit, is now delighted to have funded new post protectors for the Club.
Although the post protectors were purchased some months ago, it is only now that they are being put to good use as the Club starts to play host to visiting teams. They took the opportunity of Saturday’s friendly game against Bishop’s Stortford to formally thank representatives of Ashtons for their continued sponsorship.
Alan Brown, a partner in Ashtons Legal, comments: “We’ve always been keen to be involved with the Bury St Edmunds community in a range of ways, whether it be working with charities, the arts or sporting organisations. Bury St Edmunds RUFC plays an important part in the life of the town and is brilliant at encouraging and developing youngsters alongside adult players. We have also been particularly impressed with their dementia-friendly initiatives. We are delighted to be able to help support them once again this year as they work hard to get things back on track post-lockdown.”
Norrie Dickson, Commercial Chairman at Bury St Edmunds RUFC responded saying: “Ashtons Legal has been a long-standing supporter of the club through thick and thin, for which we are extremely grateful. As Alan says, although our 1st XV are the highest-ranked team in Norfolk and Suffolk, we fundamentally see ourselves as a community club with a strong ‘One Club’ ethos catering for all ages and genders. We’re still developing and growing in that sense and the continued support of Ashtons Legal is a massive help on this journey”.
