Ashtons Legal starts 2025 with a new partner appointment
Ashtons Legal is delighted to announce the appointment this week of Richard Guy, a new partner in the firm’s Lifetime Planning team.
Richard will be based in the Bury St Edmunds office and work with clients across Suffolk. Richard typically works with clients to help them develop and implement plans for their and their families’ futures, including guiding the transfer of wealth to future generations.
Richard is well known, having served the Suffolk and wider East Anglian community for many years, and adds to the decades of experience that Ashtons already has supporting clients in the region. Richard will be working with the established team to further evolve the way they utilise technology and develop new ways of working to meet changing requirements from clients. At the core of these services are strong client relationships representing, advising and working alongside family generations.
Richard’s appointment is part of Ashtons’ growth, which saw the firm expand to over 420 people across East Anglia last year. Ashtons has ambitious plans to grow further, including additional recruitment into the Lifetime Planning team in 2025 in order to meet the demand for these services from clients.
James Tarling, CEO, says: “I am delighted to welcome Richard to the Ashtons Legal team. Richard shares our passion and core values for delivering a friendly and approachable service to our clients tailored to meet their individual requirements. Richard is joining one of our largest teams and one of the strongest in Suffolk and East Anglia, with over 40 people in our Lifetime Planning team who are dedicated to helping individuals prepare and plan for their futures. I look forward to working with Richard as we invest to further expand the team over the coming year.”
Richard says: “I am thrilled to join Ashtons Legal as a Partner in their Lifetime Planning team. It is a huge privilege to join one of the top legal firms in the East of England with real strength in depth and a deep commitment to serving clients across the region.”
He adds: “With Inheritance Tax becoming more complex and affecting more estates, expert, tailored legal advice is more important than ever. I’m excited to get started and help clients navigate the complexities of tax, wills, probate and estate planning. I am also looking forward to working alongside such talented colleagues to continue delivering the highest level of care and expertise for our clients.”
