Ashtons launches Wills Year initiative
Regional law firm Ashtons Legal have this month launched their Wills Year initiative where a donation for each Will completed in an entire year will be donated to local charities.
The firm has historically participated in various charities’ Wills Week campaigns where a fee from each Will made in that particular week was donated to a nominated charity or where the client made a donation of their choice rather than paying for their Will at normal rates.
Following an analysis of both formats, and tying in with the organisations wish to support local charities, the firm decided to launch Ashtons’ Wills Year on 1st July 2018. This means that instead of supporting charities for odd weeks, a £10 donation will be made for each Will that is completed, invoiced and paid for after that date. All monies will be split between the following causes:
- Gatehouse – Bury St Edmunds
- St Nicholas Hospice – Bury St Edmunds
- Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust Dementia Appeal – Cambridge
- Arthur Rank Hospice – Cambridge
- Norfolk Family Carers – Norwich
- Priscilla Bacon Hospice – Norwich
- Age UK Suffolk – Ipswich
- St Elizabeth Hospice – Ipswich.
Jane Gaynor, Ashtons’ Business Manager Individual Client Services, says: “This initiative is consistent with the firm’s ethos of making a positive CSR contribution to the communities in which we live, work, and where we have chosen to raise our families. Wills Year and the contributions we will make to these eight amazing charities sits well with the ‘community contribution’ awards that we have won in recent years”.
Jane adds: “If you need a Will but have been putting it off and are keen to support a local cause then give any member of our Lifetime Planning team a call on 0330 404 0773”.
